فيديو WebM

WebM هو تنسيق فيديو مفتوح وخالٍ من حقوق الملكية طورته Google للويب. يستخدم برامج ترميز الفيديو VP8 أو VP9 أو AV1 مع صوت Vorbis أو Opus في حاوية مبنية على Matroska. يدعم WebM أصلياً في Chrome وFirefox وEdge وAndroid.

WebM هو ملف تعريف لحاوية Matroska مقتصر على فيديو VP8/VP9/AV1 وصوت Vorbis/Opus. يستخدم ترميز EBML الثنائي وهو مصمم للبث عبر الويب بأقل حمل.

التاريخ

قدمت Google تنسيق WebM في عام 2010 بعد استحواذها على On2 Technologies وإتاحة VP8 كمصدر مفتوح. تبعه VP9 في 2013، وأُضيف AV1 (الذي طوره تحالف الوسائط المفتوحة) في 2018.
